I work with students in grades K-8 who need support in reading, writing, and/or math. Additionally, I offer general academic coaching and writing support for middle school students. I can also help families who are navigating the IEP and special education process, empowering them with the knowledge and confidence to secure the right support for their child.
Yes! I typically offer in-person sessions at the Northeast Library, but I'm available to meet at other locations in Capitol Hill. We can discuss the best option for your family during our consultation call.
Yes! Virtual sessions provide more flexibility and I have found that they work surprisingly well for students. I keep online lessons simple and engaging, and many families are pleasantly surprised by how much their children enjoy working with me virtually.
How much do you charge for tutoring?
I charge $90 for a 45-minute session and accept payment through Zelle. Payment is due at the time of service. I find this amount of time works well for most students, but if needed, session times can be adjusted based on my hourly rate.
In general, I recommend two sessions per week to help students close learning gaps more quickly. This also minimizes long breaks between sessions due to illness or vacations.
For students who need tutoring in reading, I require two 45-minute sessions per week. The consistency is necessary to reinforce new skills. However, for math, writing, or academic coaching, one session per week may be sufficient.
If a student arrives late or needs to leave early, the full session fee still applies. Please let me know in advance about any trips, appointments, or schedule changes. For illnesses, I appreciate as much notice as possible. If a student hasn’t arrived within five minutes of the scheduled start time, I will reach out to check in. After 15 minutes, I will consider it a missed session, and the full session fee will apply.
For in-person sessions, I bring all necessary materials. If your child has schoolwork, feel free to bring it when we meet. I can also provide follow-up work depending on your child’s progress and your family's schedule.
I keep my virtual sessions simple for families! All your child needs to access our lesson is: a laptop or desktop computer, a distraction-free space, a whiteboard and dry erase markers OR paper and pencil and headphones (optional). Yes! I'm available for in-person and virtual sessions over the summer. Fill out my contact form and let me know your availability.
I am a dedicated educator with 20 years of experience in education. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and French Language and Literature, as well as a master’s degree in Special Education.
My journey in education began as an elementary inclusion classroom teacher. After the birth of my first child, I transitioned to substitute teaching in grades PreK–8, which allowed me to work across multiple school districts and private schools in the DC area.
In 2021, I discovered my true passion—working with students as a tutor. Since then, I have helped dozens of students strengthen their skills, boost their confidence, and achieve academic success. I love that I am able to provide personalized support tailored to each child’s unique learning needs.
To further enhance my ability to support students, I have pursued specialized training in structured literacy interventions, including the Orton-Gillingham methodology, as well as targeted math and behavior interventions. I draw on my vast educational background and experience to create individualized lessons that meet students exactly where they are. By combining research-based strategies with a patient and encouraging approach, I strive to make learning engaging for every student I work with.

I provide academic coaching and writing support for middle school students. Academic coaching helps students develop essential skills such as organization, time management, study strategies, and self-advocacy. Writing support focuses on strengthening skills in brainstorming, structuring essays, improving clarity, and refining grammar and mechanics. Whether a student needs help with a specific writing assignment or ongoing support to improve their academic habits, I tailor my approach to meet their individual needs.
Absolutely. As an educator with a background in special education as well as personal experience as a parent navigating the IEP process, I understand how overwhelming it can be for families. I support parents by helping them understand evaluations, interpret reports, and learn about their child's unique learning needs. I also help families think about appropriate services, accommodations, and strategies to advocate effectively for their child. My goal is to empower families with the knowledge and confidence they need to ensure their child receives the support necessary to thrive in their educational journey.
